Sandra Weber rejoined the National Science Foundation Southeast Maritime and Transportation (SMART) Center team in January 2014 after a five year hiatus to raise her children. Previously, Sandra had worked as a program specialist for the DOL IDWSS grant and the NSF planning grant leading to the creation of the NSF SMART Center. Prior to becoming the SMART Center program manager, she was an education coordinator for the Tidewater Community College Registered Apprenticeship program. These experiences allow her to have a deep understanding of the history and focus of the SMART Center.
Weber is a Masters’ degree candidate in the Masters’ of Public Administration (MPA) program at Strayer University and holds her Bachelors’ of Business Administration in Management. She is the mother of three children and her husband is retired from the U.S. Navy.
